The special thing about this Humayun’s tomb, more than 150 people are buried here. Which includes the mausoleum of Babur and Isak Khan. This Tomb has 60 rooms on the first floor and 4 rooms on the second floor. And in every room, there is a grave of some or the other. Humayun Tomb History
Humayun was the second ruler of the Mughal Empire, its full name was Nasiruddin Muhammad Humayun. It was born on 6 March 1508 in Kabul and was considered to be the unlucky king in the Mughal era. Humayun is the first Mughal Empire that came to Delhi and settled a city called Deen Panah.
In 1539, Sher Shah Suri defeated Humayun and captured the Deen Panah, and destroyed it completely. And built the Purana Qila in the same place. On 22 June 1555 Humayun recaptured Delhi by defeating King Sultan Sikandar Sur.

On January 27, 1956, Humayun died falling from the stairs of the Sher Mandal library in the Purana Qila. After Humayun’s death, his body was buried there. But later King Hem Chandra Vikram Aditya (Hemu) conquered the old fort. remaining soldiers took Humayun’s corpse with him to save him from Hem Chandra Vikram Aditya.
In this way, Humayun’s corpse was carried there for 15 years. And finally, Humayun’s corpse was acquired by his son Akbar in 1565. And at the behest of Humayun’s widow Begum Hamida Bano, Akbar built Humayun’s tomb near the dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. This tomb was completed in 1572. The construction of this mausoleum was done by Parsi architect Merak Mirza Giyath. And it was designed by contemporary historian Abd Al-Kader Banda Uni.
Such a beautiful mausoleum was built for the first time in India, in which lots of red sandstone and white marble were used. The design of this tomb was liked so much that all the subsequent mausoleums were built in the same way. Today, you can consider the Taj Mahal as the second version of this as well.
